Surely I want to start with discussing this Publisher Network. Since it’s launch by Google Adsense has become somewhat of an icon in this online advertising world. And it was really well deserved! Google has been doing a great job making online advertising accessible, starting with accepting just about every decent Website, following the ability to put your ads on any website and finally making the revenue so high that no other network could bare with! Really Adsense was the best.

I don’t want to disappoint you but things has changed over time. I don’t know what pushed Google to make the steps they did but I am sure there was a reason. No matter what it was, for us – publishers this resulted in less money. Adsense has let it’s (very attractive) referral program go. Referring other publishers to Adsense will give you nada, nothing, not even a penny. Firefox and GooglePack seems to be popular enough to Google because they’ve shut down it’s promotion as well. And as a final touch Google has decided to make the clicks worth less. In 2007 the ads were worth about 70 cents per click. Compared to 5 amusing cents today it’s day and night. Well, I guess there is nighttime in the financial world and Google pretty much needs it’s sun. The most we can do is just continue supporting and working with Adsense hoping that some day the sun will rise and shine on our precious money-purses.
